A thought to share on this day that the Lord has made...

It is so easy to get caught up in all the fears of our time.

We are all prone to falling into the trappings of this world and how we see our present circumstance

We are all prone to falling into the trappings of this world and how we see our present circumstance

But our Savior has such a wonderful focus for our lives:

Colossians 3:1-3 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Ten Reasons to Love and Trust Jesus. Click here for this wonderfully encouraging reminder of Who we have in Christ.

We are all prone to falling into the trappings of this world and how we see our present circumstance

We are all prone to falling into the trappings of this world and how we see our present circumstance

We are all prone to falling into the trappings of this world and how we see our present circumstance

But our Lord's word will prevail, just as it did for Jeremiah:

Lamentations 3:19-26 Remember my affliction and my wanderings,
the wormwood and the gall! My soul continually remembers it and is bowed down within me.  But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:  The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

Be strengthened by caring for one another. Click here for a wonderful resource to consider for these times.

We are here for you...

We know that many, if not all of us, are struggling in one way or many. This is a time where the privilege and the responsibility of the body of Christ is great. We are to care for one another, and our great God has given us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places to do so (Eph 1:3). If we can be of any help to you, please let us. We are available on the phone, over Skype or Zoom or as the situation settles, face to face. It would be our great privilege to serve the Lord by serving you in these days of uncertainty and fear for so many.

Please reach out, we should not be alone in this time.

Who We Are

Our Philosophy of Ministry, Soul-Care and Training

Northwest Georgia Biblical Care & Discipleship (NWGBC&D) is a ministry located in the Northwest Georgia area serving our local community through our biblical counseling/soul-care ministry. Additionally, we serve to equip our community of church pastors, leaders, and counselors who desire further counseling education and certification. We are passionate about the continuing work of our Lord Jesus Christ through an understanding and application of the scriptures, discipleship and counseling of God’s word into, and through, all the matters of life as an ongoing "Community in Counsel." (Matthew 11:28; Philippians 1:6; 2 Peter 1:3-4)

Our philosophy is God given and fully sufficient for addressing all the matters of life and Godliness because All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Scripture is the wondrous resource our Triune God has given His bride in order that we might know Him and walk in a manner worthy of Him, complete and equipped for every good work (Ephesians 2:10; 4:11-15; Romans 15:13-14; 2 Peter 1:3).

Ephesians 4:11-16

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

Our Soul Care Focus

Our hope and prayer is that through the biblical counsel and discipleship of our local community we will not only be helped to grow and change toward Christ-likeness in our individual lives, but can be more fully equipped to provide biblical soul-care for those we love and the community around us, thus advancing the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 3:14-21; 2 Corinthians 1:3-7; Matthew 28:19)

Our Training Focus

The Northwest Georgia Biblical Care & Discipleship training ministry seeks to equip local churches and leadership to counsel church members, organize biblical living and discipleship training, and provide certification pathways so that the body of Christ may be strengthened to His glory. (Rom 15:14; Col 3:16; Heb 10:24-25; Heb 3:12-13; 1Thes 5:14; Eph 4:11-15; Gal 6:1-2)

Our Counseling Breadth

Idolatry & Addiction

The Bible boldly proclaims the explanation of addiction lies not in the condition of the body, brain or circumstances (past or present) but in the condition of the heart. Biblical Counseling will focus on the heart of the matter, the heart itself. See these verses: Matthew 15:18-20; Matthew 12:33-37; Matthew 15:19; Matthew 12:24; Proverbs 4:23

Fear, Anxiety & Worry

From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible tells us to fear God, but our lives show where our true fears lie. Sinful, controlling fear cripples us spiritually: we’re afraid to obey or trust God, and we worry more about what others think of us than what God thinks. Throw off the covers and embrace the fear that is good for you—the fear of God that will give you true courage in every situation. See these verses: Romans 8:15; 2 Tim 1:7; Hebrews 13:5-6; Psalm 27:1; Matthew 10:29-30; 1 John 4:18

 2 Corinthians 7:1

Relationships, Families & Strengthening our walk with Christ

One of the reasons many of us do not experience love to the fullest is because we do not truly know what is real love. What is love? So often, love is mistaken for the warm feelings that are experienced in response to another person. We define love as the intense attraction or deep affection for someone else. And while these descriptions may describe love, they do not fully define love. Love often involves these wonderful feelings, yes. But love is so much more.

God Himself is the author, originator and source of love. God is love. Real love starts with receiving the real love of God. Love undeserving. Love unprovoked by our acts of adoration or affection. Love that did not wait for us to love Him first. See these verses: 1 John 4:8-11&19;  Ephesians 2:4-7; Ephesians 5:2

A common question: Do you charge fee's for this ministry? We believe God has given us His word and the equipping in His word as a gift to His church. We do not charge for the care & discipleship we provide but we do encourage all that can to help us sustain our ministry for the Lord.
